Hitting escape at the management console log-in prompt breaks the page

If you hit escape at the username/password prompt of the management console, you'll see this error:

I would expect a message more like "Incorrect username or password.".

If you hit escape again, the prompt disappears and the page doesn't load. You have to refresh to bring the prompt back.
