(Spike) Investigate exactly how code host connection works

While our first iteration of public + private code for users on Cloud is user-based, I'm not clear how the connection/permissions will be handled across each of the code host platforms, and what might change between now (user-level) and in the future where we have multi-tenant organizations.

We need to investigate and understand exactly how this authentication will work for each code host so it can be taken into account in design and backend planning short- and long-term.

I suggest I pair with another developer who can lead investigation.
